Our mosquito nets are long enough, there is no problem at all, and they are very beautiful.

If your screws are then too short to allow the boards to be placed- (they will stack 2 high at each corner) the hardware store has longer ones. I had to buy for mine. Easy to change- just unscrew old and place new using vise grips. I stained my boards to match my antique bed. My total cost was like $5 (I already had stain and varnish).
