- The Waterman, the masterpiece of the famous Russian science fiction writer Aleksandr Belyaev, whose books Professor Dowell's Head and Ket Yıldızı have previously been translated into Turkish, is in Turkish for the first time as the 21st book of the Science Fiction Classics series of Ithaki Publications.Belyaev, the first writer in history to make a living by writing science fiction, is also described as the Jules Verne of the Soviets.As a result of the experiments carried out on Waterman in his childhood, Ihtyandr, who had fish gills and therefore spent his life in water, nicknamed sea devil by fishermen, witnessed the tides he experienced between land and sea life, as well as his struggle with the outside world as a superhuman creature.In this work, Belyaev does not refrain from touching on social issues such as providing better living conditions for the poor.
