Yes, proper storage of the West System 655-K components is essential for maintaining their efficacy. This will not only prolong their shelf life but also ensure that they perform effectively when needed. Users commonly avoid storing their kits in humid environments, which could affect the performance of the materials.

Can I paint over the repairs made with the West System 655-K?

Yes, you can paint over repairs made with the West System 655-K, provided that the surface is properly prepared. After the epoxy has fully cured, sand the repaired area lightly to create a suitable surface for paint adherence. This capability allows boat owners to restore both function and aesthetics after a repair, helping to maintain the boat's overall appearance.

What precautions should be taken while using the West System 655-K?

While using the West System 655-K, it’s important to follow safety precautions to ensure a safe experience. Taking these precautions not only protects the user but also ensures a successful and unhindered repair process.

How can I clean up after using the West System 655-K?

Cleanup after using the West System 655-K involves several steps to ensure a safe and thorough process. First, if the epoxy has not cured yet, use acetone or another suitable solvent to clean any excess resin from tools and surfaces.
