It has a milliamp function that makes it ideal for instrumentation applications and a microamp function that works for burner flame signal troubleshooting. The frequency and capacitance and temperature functions are useful for HVAC applications. It comes with a test and temperature probe and has a fabric case. An optional rare-earth magnetic hanging strap is available. The multimeter is relatively affordable compared to other models on the market. However, there are some drawbacks. There are reports that the multimeter blows fuses when measuring 12VDC, but the issue was found to be due to not following the instructions carefully. The multimeter also defaults to the mV range when selecting DC and does not auto-range. The background can be hard to see, even with auto light turned off, and it turns on to AC, so users always have to switch to DC. The two AAA batteries do not last very long. One user tested the multimeter and found it has an error of plus 3.75% in amperage, which may be problematic for those working with low milliamp and microamp ranges.
