There are warnings not to stand the unit upright until the back is on, and there is an off-gassing odor that may bother some people. The bookcase is not very stable on rugs and carpets. Although some reviewers had trouble with assembly, others found it easy. The bookcase has a few weaknesses, such as the top shelf section joining the bottom section, but it can be easily reinforced. Overall, the bookcase is a good value for the price.
