The CanoScan Lide 400 scanner is a great value, easy to use and delivers a quality and clear result every single time. It has the ability to scan multiple pages and gives clear and concise prompts on how to do so. There are no complicated instructions, simply load the scans facing down with the top towards the front of the scanner. The scanner works well with both laptops and tablets and is perfect for scanning old photos and documents for family history. However, some users found issues with software and instructions. The inclusion of two separate software packages was disappointing, and the instructions aren't clear on how to obtain the maximum resolution. Some users also faced issues with the scanner randomly "waking-up" and running for a few seconds. The scanner is noisy even on the quiet setting, but overall, it works fine. **
