Higher Education Editorial Review
Basic Mathematics is an invaluable resource for self-learners, providing a thorough overview of essential concepts needed to progress in calculus or linear algebra. Readers appreciate the book's approach of deriving results rather than simply stating them, which enriches understanding. However, the exercises present a mixed bag; while they cover important skills, many solutions are misprinted, which can confuse less confident students. The book runs the risk of becoming frustrating due to the inherent complexity of some problems, but it ultimately serves as a decent training tool for those looking to enhance their mathematical proficiency.
