Mr. Norris Changes Trains is an excellent piece of historical fiction set in Europe, mostly Germany, during the 1930s. The story, although slow moving at times, offers insight into pre-WWII Berlin and the political climate of the time. Isherwood's prose is light and airy, allowing the story to flow easily. While the book may have some flaws, it is still highly recommended for its portrayal of the atmosphere in Berlin before the war.
