Anthologies Editorial Review
The Norton Anthology of Drama Shorter Second Edition is an excellent collection of classic plays at a great price. It is heavy, but looks brand new with no damaged pages. The pre-script intros are very helpful, and the book has very thorough footnotes, background information and context, which aid in analyzing the plays past the words on the page. However, the translations may not be the best, and some written works may be edited and omitted. Overall, the Norton Anthologies are enjoyable, and the short bios that precede the actual stories are fantastic for providing context to the stories themselves.
